Can I rent a unit over the phone?
Yes. Call the office and provide us with the information to complete the rental contract. We can email the contract to you for signature or hold in the office until your arrival. Payment for the unit will be required via credit card to complete the rental.
Do I have to pay a Security Deposit?

What hours can I access my Temp/Climate-Controlled storage unit?

Buildings with KeyPad Entry systems allow tenants access from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., 365 days per year.

NOTE: Tenants need to be aware that remaining in the building after 8 p.m. will activate the alarm system. Off-hours these buildings are monitored by an alarmed Security System.

Will I have 24-hour access to my unheated, drive-up storage unit?

Yes.

Do you have security cameras?

Yes, but NOT currently at all locations. Both temperature and climate-controlled buildings have 24 hour camera surveillance. Most drive-up, unheated, self-storage units are not covered by the camera surveillance.

Do I have to purchase a padlock?

Yes. Only one padlock is allowed on each storage unit, and tenants can use whatever type or brand they prefer. Round locks (or Disc Locks) are recommended for security purposes.

What can I do to protect the items I put in unheated storage?

We recommend storing items in covered totes and placing sheets or blankets over furniture and mattresses to protect items from wind-blown dust/dirt. If using for long-term storage, remember that in Maine an unheated unit will be subjected to temperature and humidity fluctuations.

Are there items that are NOT ALLOWED to be stored in my unit?

Yes.
DO NOT store perishable items (food, pet food, bird seed);
DO NOT store hazardous or combustible items (gasoline, propane tanks, solvents).

I’m moving out. What do I need to do?

We ask that you notify us if you are planning to vacate your storage unit. Prior written notice is not required. If the unit is left empty and clean, your security deposit will be returned to by mail or credited back to credit card on file (generally within 7 days).

Can I store a vehicle in a storage unit?

Yes. Full size automobiles generally require a 10×20 sized unheated unit. Smaller compact autos (under 14.5 feet) can usually fit into a 10×15 sized unheated unit.

Can your facility accommodate a semi-tractor trailer moving van?

We have several locations, and some are more easily accessible than others. Some unheated units ARE NOT accessible to a semi-tractor trailer vehicle. Please give the office a call to discuss your circumstances and storage unit requirements before rental.

Do you offer any RV or boat storage?

No. We do not currently have space to offer storage for any large recreational items.
